Romania July 2025 Trip Report
FBC Melbourne
Late Saturday night, our mission team arrived home safely from Romania—praise the Lord for His protection and faithfulness every step of the way! I’d love to share a brief testimony of how God worked during our time there so you can rejoice with us and share with others.
From the beginning, we saw God’s hand in the details. He not only guided and provided for us in Romania, but He also kept things running smoothly back home. The team was divided into three groups, each serving in a different location with a unique purpose.
One team spent the week at a camp for gypsy teenagers.
This group remained at the camp full-time and faced what was likely the most energetic and challenging environment. Teenagers can bring their fair share of rowdiness, but the team handled it all with wisdom, patience, and love. The teaching and recreation time were well prepared and effective. It was encouraging to see the team engage so fully and with such excellence. One of the young team members even formed close friendships with Romanian translators, showing how God builds bridges across cultures.
Another team served at a Vacation Bible School held at a local church in the city.
This church has been a partner in ministry for several years, and one of our ongoing goals has been to encourage them to take full ownership of the VBS outreach. This year, that goal was beautifully realized. The local Romanian team planned and led nearly every aspect of the VBS, with our team simply offering support and encouragement. It was clear they are now fully equipped to carry out this ministry on their own in the future. A total of 124 children attended, and the joy of the Lord was evident in every activity and song.
The third group served in a village near the camp, a place the local church is especially burdened to reach.
We were granted access to use the local middle/high school facilities, and a VBS was held from Monday to Wednesday. Once again, the Romanian team took the lead while our team supported from behind the scenes. Over the course of the week, 71 children participated. On Wednesday evening, the local village church—planted by the city church—hosted an evangelistic service. The children sang for the attendees, some of their parents came, and Bibles were distributed to all the visiting families. It was a powerful way to end the week and sow seeds of faith in the hearts of both children and adults.
Altogether, across the three ministry sites, over 300 children were reached with the love of Christ—120 at the camp, 124 at the city church, and 71 in the village. Around 75 children made decisions for Christ at the camp, and the local church has a faithful follow-up plan in place to continue the work.
Thank you for praying and partnering with us. God is moving in Romania, and it was a privilege to join in the work He is doing there. Let’s continue to lift up these local churches and communities as they shine the light of Christ in their region.
